Wiley and Reber to Present at MPELRA Winter Conference February 14

It was recently announced that Wiley Law Office attorneys Greg Wiley and Ben Reber will BOTH be presenting at the upcoming Minnesota Public Employer Labor Relations Association Winter Conference on February 14, 2019.  That means before you take some to settle in with that special someone on Valentine’s Day, you can settle in at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West to receive some up-to-date employment law information from some of Minnesota’s most sought-after speakers!

For his presentation, Greg will be speaking about Fitness for Duty issues in an interactive Choose Your Own Adventure style, where the audience will be able to make its own decisions on what steps to take in different situations involving employees working in safety-sensitive positions.  Will the employer safely guide its employee through the fitness for duty process, or will they end up in the dreaded District Court??

For his part, Ben will be presenting along with esteemed Hennepin County Labor Relations Representative Todd Olness about Police and Fire FLSA regulations and how they should be applied in your organization.  The FLSA can be a complicated law to follow, and if there are two groups you don’t want to mess it up with, it’s your police officers and firefighters!

Other issues to be covered include Law Enforcement investigation and discipline; Law Enforcement Data Practices, a Public Safety law update and the incredible dessert offerings!  While the Crowne Plaza is a great venue, spots for this conference fill up fast!  Take advantage of the new upcoming budget year and get signed up for the MPELRA Winter Conference right away!

As a final note, we at the Wiley Law Office wish you all a happy and safe holiday break.  We have enjoyed working with many of you over the last year, and are excited to continue our relationships with you into 2019 and beyond!
